Are you ready to start your business plan?

INVenture is an interactive tool that helps you write your business plan in steps. Each step has topics that correspond to parts of a business plan. For each topic there are questions you should answer in the boxes provided. Remember that your words will become your business plan, so use complete sentences.

1. To use the AICC INVenture tool. Start with the Fundamentals of Your Business to write the basics of your idea. Use the Next and Previous buttons to go from screen to screen (do not use your Internet browser's navigation buttons ("forward" and "back"), or click on the question you would like to answer on this page. At the end of each stage an assessment helps you review what you’ve written. If you are confident your answers for the stage are complete, then go to the next stage.

2. To save your data. Save your progress after answering each question by clicking the Save button. Track your progress on this screen with the checklist. If you added or edited, text then you will be prompted to save your changes when you click Next. A check will appear in the Changed column. You will also be prompted to decide if you are finished making changes to that part of the planner. If you are, then a check will appear in the Completed column.

3. Download your business plan. Your answers are compiled into a business plan that you can refer to as your venture develops and which you can share with potential partners. Download it by scrolling to the bottom of this page and clicking Generate Report. Writing a business plan is a process that usually takes several weeks of in-depth research, so you can use this site to revise your plan or plans.
